Emotion and light translated through tranquil mountain scenes, vivid florals and everything in between. Art is a constant evolution for artist Karen Millard.
Millard is constantly learning and evolving and, as a result of her experimentation, she never gets bored in her work.
Watercolour is her main focus but she also works with acrylic and, in the past, leaded glass.
Life has been a lifelong exercise in art for Millard and as a teenager she was Robert (Bob) Pollack’s (Winnipeg artist) protege in acrylics. She has also learned under the wings of Mark Hobson, Gayle Turner Sears, Marion Shlegel, Grant Fuller and many other talented artists.
A painting that may take Millard six hours has over 50 years experience within it.
A local teacher at the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre, Millard learns from her students as they do her.
